Execute
traceroute commands, plot the hops and connect them with lines. Indicate
the AS number and its name of these hops and also indicate if some hops
belong to a same AS. AS means "Autonomous System", an administrative
domain of Internet Service Provider, Data Center and so on. Your drawing
will show how the boundaries of networks are formed, and it turns out to be
a big picture of Internet.
In the case that public traceroute servers do not provide AS numbers in the
result, you can visit http://www.radb.net/ to look up the AS number using the
IP address of each hop (router) belongs on the path from source to
destination. The appropriate option is Global Resource Service (GRS) to
lookup the route (prefix), description (organization name) and origin (AS
number).
Use PowerPoint or other similar tool to engage in this work.
You are
expected to submit both the result of traceroute commands and the drawing
both in one PDF file together.
