Many strengths, weaknesses, likes, challenges and dislikes are evidenced by this piece.
One of the strengths of this piece is the descriptive language used to show and not tell each of the
different ways that water relates to me. For example, Softer than a teddy bear and more
soothing than a massage, water instills a calming feeling within many, clarifies how relaxing
water is by instilling a mental picture within the reader. Another strength of this piece is the use
of a prodigious quote to describe both a quality of water and me. The quote, Good things come
to those who wait, shows how both water and I have patience to reach the overarching goal.
One of the weaknesses evidenced in the piece is the strength of the conclusion. The conclusion is
only one sentence, which does not leave a very impactful feeling on the reader and could be
fixed by adding more commentary to leave thought-provoking assertions for the reader. One of
the things I liked about writing this piece is that I got to introspect and analyze which object
represented me. What I disliked was that showing and not telling was required; showing and not
telling was a challenge for me throughout this paper as this was a new concept that I had not
been very proficient with.
