Observation Notes

Office called

Students were engaged for most of the period; the class starts at 11:40am and ends at 12:16pm.
The teacher provided them with a past/present interactive lesson. Every student participated and
were acknowledged when they did the correct thing, for example, being given a ticket for
coming in ready to work by having their study guide and notebooks open before the teacher asks.
Some students were off track but they came back and completed their assignments without
displaying problematic behaviors. Towards the end of the period, one student, Mi, was called to
the office to talk about problematic behavior outside of the classroom; she let it affect her mood
when she came back. She became a distraction until the end of the period because she continued
to talk about the situation after she was told her to settle down. They seemed engaged especially
during the interactive game.
