Day 11 Tuesday 24th June

Today was a very short day. At 1pm we had parent teacher

interviews. For the beginning of the day students were
completing/tidying up the areas of their election project to finalise
any details ready to hand in. first up I taught a decimal lesson using
practical objects to help students learn about how to present a
decimal in different ways. They used money, MAB blocks, bundle
sticks, 1m and 30cm rulers etc. I feel like the students were able to
grasp the tasks. Those higher achievers were able to move on to the
problem questions once they had finished the work. I was working
mostly with the lower achievers on the floor whilst Mrs. Davies
roamed the room helping other students. Parent teacher interviews
were such a great experience, it is great to be able to look at the
child and then link them to their parents and obviously how their
parents respond to their childs efforts at school. I also loved being
able to listening to the way Mrs. Davies and Ms. Prince addressed
any issues the parents had or praises they were giving. Most
importantly just how they handled the meetings. It was quite tiring
smiling and concentrating hard towards the end of the interviews.
