DECISION MAKING

Careful planning for your future career will allow you to be in control of one of the
biggest decsions in your life
The longer the decision will affect your life, the more time you need to think about
the consequences beforehand.
Decision making process :a logical series of steps to identify and evaluate
possibilities and to arrive at a good choice.

SETTING LIFESTYLE GOALS


When beginning to think about a career, consider your lifestyle goals. Imagine how
you would like to spend your time, energy and resources in the future.
Consider your values or the principles that you want to live by, when you are
planning for a career. General values include responsibility, relationship,
compassion, courage, achievement and recognition.
Your interest are your favorite activities. You probably want to plan for a career that
would involve your interest. You need to determine whether you prefer working
with data, people or things.
Lifestyle goals- the way you want to spend your time, energy, and resources in the
future.
Values- the principles that you want to live by and the beliefs that are important to
you.
Data- working with information, idea, facts, symbols, figures, or statistics.

ARE YOUR GOALS REALISTIC?

An aptitude is your potential for learning a certain skill. An ability is a skill you have
already developed. You want to discover your aptitude and abilities because you
will want to use them in the career of your choice.
Your personality and main learning style can influence the kind of career that would
be right for you. Personality includes your attitude, behaviors, and characteristics.
There are 7 learning stiles, which relate to how you think and learn.

THE DIFFERENT LEARNING STYLES


1. Linguistic learns by saying, hearing, and seeing words.
2. Logical/ Mathematical- learns best by making categories, classifying, and working
with patterns.
3. Spatial- learns best by using the minds eye and working with colors and pictures
4. Musical- learns best through rhythm and melody.
5. Body/Kinesthetic- learns best by interacting with people and objects in a real space
6. Interpersonal- learns best by sharing, comparing, and cooperating
7. Intrapersonal- learns best through independent study.
