PREPARATION FOR CHAMBER MUSIC PERFORMANCE WITH GUITAR

TECHNIQUES:

The present work discusses the preparation for guitar performances in chamber music groups with
emphasis on repertoires that present extended techniques, being its main objective to present a number of
rehearsal techniques that might be applied to the repertoire through the usage of extended techniques in
chamber groups containing guitar in its ensemble. For developing such work, a literary review on the
matter will be necessary, alongside the use of recordings and interviews with professional musicians
working in the area as well as the authors personal experience preparing for the thesis defense recital.
Therefore, it is intended to verify the need for a distinguished preparation through new rehearsal
techniques when it comes to extended techniques in the repertoire of chamber music groups that utilize
guitar.
