Executive Summery
Portfolio: Childrens National Health Systems, PR & Marketing Intern
An internship is designed to train and prepare students for a job in the real
workforce. I was able to work at Childrens National in their PR & Marketing
department. The following portfolio is a representation of the work I completed and
experience I gained while at Childrens National.
As an intern in this department I worked under Stephanie Mappin, an online specialist
in the PR and Marketing department. While at this internship I:

Developed, measure and analyze social media content

Provided assistance with Childrens National website content management system
Interviewed clinicians and wrote posts for the Parenting Corner blog
Assisted in integrating Childrens National blogs into the new website

During the internship I established two clear goals.

1. Improve writing skills through experience while on the job. Meet with supervisors
to go over editing and measure progress throughout the semester.
2. Expand knowledge and skills in developing public relation campaign through
general media, the creation of media kits, and public service announcements or
press releases.
The work samples and point papers you will see in this portfolio represent the work I
did at Childrens National. I look forward to using the skills I learned at this internship to
advance and achieve my public relations career goals.
