Since I was young medicine has always sparked my interest, mothers side of the family was into

nursing as to my fathers side like being a technical physician coming from a Philippines perspective
though. Born into a year where technology was slowly advancing, television was and still continues to
feed our daily lives with information; whether shows may spute flashy drama sitcoms or latest breaking
news at 2100, t.v. will be accommodated someway.
Remembering sitting on the couch, planted in front of our 23 inch television watching Untold
Stories of the Emergency Room on the Discovery Channel, now Oprah Winfrey Network, and creating a
spot in my childhood where I wanted to do such. I knew becoming a doctor will not happen flick of the
wrist, but in great efforts shall greatness appear. Trial and error, many trials and errors flood my young 6
year old mind as I run back and forth from my Aunts Care Home Facility. Fascinated I wanted to learn
more so about our human body, therefore any and every question muttering from my juvenile lips left and
into my mothers ears. I hoped one day I will be able to be alongside a physician assisting in surgery
during my residency or collecting my team as a tier one patient comes rushing into my emergency room.
Dreams eventually turned into a reality, this was my goal.
With this in mind, I was prepared to do my utmost best in order to get into top schools. As I grew
up and cultured myself with our changing society, ivy-league schools are not the only pathway to
succeeding in life. Around eighth grade year, I realized Stanford was little to becoming just a dream, but
high-school was around summers corner. Freshman year passes by and Sophomore year rolls in,
reflecting back onto fifth grade Hannah, I knew exactly what career will satisfy my young mind. I wanted
to become an emergency room doctor, major in biology for med-school and go for acute emergency
medicine. In readiness to becoming a doctor, I took AP Biology Sophomore year and Anatomy Junior
year.
