Big Bird Farms.

As the name suggests the company farms big birds, what kind of big bird? None
other than the biggest bird of them all: Ostrich! We plan on starting our farm in
Interior Sindh, Sangarh, since ostrichs are prone to living in a semi-desert or true
desert habitats, and seem to flourish there. The birds will be free to roam around in
an enclosure made especially for them, with fencing. There will also be an indoor
well structured sheds, where the birds will preside in the night or during unbearable
weather conditions. There will also be proper feeding barrels for the birds, and
sanitation will be placed at a very high value.
The Ostrich farms are scattered all around the world especially in the US,
however Pakistan being a developing country there is only one major key player
that is the Pakistan Ostrich Company, apart from some small scale farms. The
Ostrich itself has many uses, and we will initially start off with focusing on exporting
and selling their eggs, while at the same time farming around fifty ostrich chicks, 40
females and ten males. However one mature pair will be kept for breeding
purposes. Once the chicks have gained maturity inflow would start.
The Ostrich is usually used for its feathers, as they are used for feather dusters,
apart from that there is an extreme demand for its skin which is used to make
leather and further on used to make products such as handbags and shoes. Ostrich
meat also has lower calories than any other meat, and is good for diabetes patients.
Health junkies from all around the world consume ostrich meat, including the very
famous Arnold Shawznegger.
Big Bird Farms however will begin to sell ostrich parts after a few years into the
business, once the company is stable and has a good volume in number. Our main
offices are set in Karachi, where the companys virtual office is set, since the
difference between Sanghar and Karachi is 262 KM, and one can commute weekly,
to overlook the farming process. Initially there will be 4 people who will be set in
Sanghar and will be divided into two working categories: Cleaning and Maintenance.
They will be trained to look after the Ostrichs in a clean and pest-free environment.
However as the company progresses more staff will be hired for the upkeep of the
birds. There will be quarters made at the farm, for there to be people to look after
the animals around the clock.
For the first five years the company will only deal in egg production, the eggs will
then be sold to Pakistan Ostrich Company, who will then breed the Ostrichs and
then export them for meat and hide. Over all we are equipped with the factors that
make a strong and working Ostrich farm. We plan on being major key players in the
company, and shaping the way Pakistan eats!
