If one link becomes unusable, it does aot incapacitate the entire cystem. So, if one connection fails, the other connections or devicer will still be working b) Five devices arranged in a star topology (not counting the hub). A star topology . each device has a dedicated point-to-pint link only to a central controller, called hub and itis robustness. Ifone link fails, only that link is affected. All other links remain active. But, the dependency of the whole topology on one single point, that is" bub” So, if one connection fails, the other devices will still be able to send data through the lub. Ifthe hub goes down, the whole system is dead. 2 Five devices arranged in a bus topology. A. bus topology is multipoint connections. Nodes are connected to the ‘bus cable’ by “dcop lines’ and ‘tape’. A drop line ie a connection running between the device and the main cable, Ifthe drop line fails, only the comesponding device cannot operate, So, if one connection fails in the bus cable stops all transmission. d Five devices arranged in a ring topology. Ina ring topology, each device has a dedicated point-to-point connection with only the two devices on either side of it A signal is passed along the ring in one direction, from device to device, until it reaches its destination. However, Unidirectional traffic can be a disadvantage. So, if a connection fails in the ring can disable the entire network unless itis a dual ring or a switch capable of closing off the break.
