THE APPLICATION OF THE 7 QC TOOLS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT.

QC tools were used for collecting data, analyzing data, identifying root causes and measuring
the results. There are 7 QC Tools. This tools are used to find out root causes and eliminates them ,
thus the manufacturing process can be improved.
The first one is the Pareto Diagram. It is a tool that arranges items in the order of the
magnitude of their contribution, thereby identifying a few items exerting maximum influence. A
Pareto chart is a bar graph. The lengths of the bars represent frequency or cost (time or money), and
are arranged with longest bars on the left and the shortest to the right. In this way the chart visually
depicts which situations are more significant .The second one is the Cause and Effect Diagram. A
Cause-and Effect Diagram is a tool that shows systematic relationship between a result or a symptom
or an effect and its possible causes. It is an effective tool to systematically generate ideas about causes
for problems and to present these in a structured form. Third is Histogram. It is a frequency
distribution shows how often each different value in a set of data occurs. Fourth is the control chart.
The control chart is a graph used to study how a process changes over time. Data are plotted in time
order. Fifth is the Scattered Diagram. It is a tool to study the relationship between two variables. It
consists of plotting a series of points representing several observations on a graph in which one
variable is on X-axis and the other variable in on Y-axis. Sixth is the Graph. Various types are used for
pictorial representation of data such as Bar Graph To compare sizes of data, Line Graph To represent
changes of data, Gantt chart To plan and schedule, Radar chart To represent changes in data (before
and after) and Band Graph. Lastly is the Check Sheet. Check sheets are tools for collecting data.
Some examples of check sheets are daily maintenance check sheets, attendance records, production
log books, etc.
