Ren Descartes

French philosopher, mathematician, and writer
Dubbed as father of modern philosophy because his ideas departed widely from
current understanding in the early 17th century, which was more feeling based
Lived in France from birth till 1628
Moved to Netherlands in 1628
Was obliged to move to Stockholm due to a request of Queen Christina.
He was involved in philosophy, but also his investigations in theoretical physics led
many scholars to consider him a mathematician first.
Descartes gave a great ordeal of his lifetime questioning the old century philosophy.
In his era, philosophy played under influence of himself. Descartes strongly supported
the accusations of doubt. He referenced "doubt" as a false in the mind. He was one of
the very first men that challenged skepticism.
