Form 3, 4 and 5
Instructions:
1. Read any of the write- ups (My Story/ True Tales from Asia OR Cover Story). Choose
only ONE.
2. Identify 10 or MORE vocabulary from the passage.
3. DEFINE each words and construct your OWN sentences using it. Expand the sentences
in THREE types, namely SIMPLE SENTENCE, COMPIUND SENTENCE and
COMPLEX SENTENCE).
4. Remember to add elements in expanding your sentences e.g: ADJECTIVES, ADVERBS,
PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE etc. (refer on HOW TO EXPAND SENTENCES from
grammar books or internet).
5. For basic understanding of Simple, Compound and Complex sentence, please get any
notes or your subject teachers for reference.
Example:
Passage: My Story (My Incredible Gift: page 10)
1. endured- tolerated
Simple

- I endured the pain.

Compound

- I endured the pain caused by the operation.

Complex

- I endured the pain caused by the operation which was done by the
cosmetologist.

(Note: REMEMBER that at least 10 words from the text have to be taken from and expanded in
THREE different TYPES as examples given.
