VLAD THE IMPALER The original Dracula was an Eastern European warrior prince who became notorious because he
impaled his victims. His actions just reflect the egregious liberties taken by the cruel ruling class in the 15th Century.

THE REAL ORIGINAL DRACULA In 1897 Bram Stoker wrote a book based on vampire myth called Dracula.

Nosferatu (1922)- Draculas cinematic debut came in 1922 with the release of the German Expressionist film Nosferatu.

DRACULA (1931) Bela Lugosi became a Hollywood legend when he played the title role in one of the first onscreen
vampires.

HAMMERS DRACULA FILMS Christopher Lee might be best known to modern audiences , was the king of the Hammer
film empire. British culture in the 1960s.

BLACULA William Marshall made the Eastern European horror icon relevant for blaxploitation audiences.

FRANK LANGELLAS DRACULA Frank Langella played a serious version of Dracula, 1979.

BRAM STOKERS DRACULA Gary Oldman played the rol,e of Dracula based on Bram Stokers novel, in 1992.

DRACULA 2000 2002, Gerard Butlers first big Hollywood role was playing a cool Dracula .
DRACULA 2013, Jonathan Rhys Meyers palays the role of Dracula, loosely based on Bram Stokers Dracula.

DRACULA UNTOLD Luke Evans stars in a retelling of the Dracula myth.

DRACULA TV SERIES (2013)

Dracula is the latest vampire TV show released in 2013,


created by Cole Haddon; tells the story of Bram Stoker's
iconic novel.
The main character Dracula played by Jonathan Rhys
Meyers moves to London, Victorian England where is
discovers a women who is in reincarnation of his dead
wife and sets out to win her affection.

CULTURAL ASPECTS

Since the 1700s the folklore and superstitions


of vampires have been recorded.
This became an obsession especially in the
Eastern Europe at that time.
The most famous of the vampire is Count
Dracula who sucks the blood of the living and is
immortal, doomed to walk the earth for all
eternity.
In 1897, author Bram Stoker released Dracula
inspired by Vlad the impaler . This Novel
invented the vampire genre.

AUDIENCES

The characters has been revamped and changed


over the years due to the contemporary audiences
and cultures we live with today.
The type of audience for Dracula would be an active
audience and the target audience would be for
adults.
