Purpose
1. Practice giving a very short presentation in front of the class
2. Use basic presentation skills
What is the assignment?
!
The assignment is to prepare a presentation that provides a brief story about
your classmate. You can include a variety of topics that help the listeners to get to know
your classmate more.
What do I need to prepare for the presentation?
!
You will need to introduce your classmate. This means you must use a present tense.
You will also need to give at least three main topics in your presentation.
You will only be able to use the 3*5 card given to you for notes.
You will need to bring the assessment form to the class on Thursday June 11,
2015, otherwise a minimum of 2 pts will be deducted.
When is the presentation and for how long?
You will present on the date Thursday June 11, 2015.
The presentation should be anywhere from 1-2 minutes.
Here is an example on how to practice your presentation.
First, write out what you want to say and then practice saying it.

Hi, my name is Dan. Today Id like to introduce our classmate Emma. Im going to
tell you about her hometown, family, and free-time activities. Emma was born in
Taipei. However, she grew up in San Diego, California. She has a small family. Her
parents live in Taipei, and she has an older brother who lives in California, too. Hes 25
and works in a bank. When Emma has free time, she plays soccer. Shee even on the
university team! She also plays the guitar: Now you know a little about Emma, her
hometown, family, and free-time activities. Thank you for listening.
