Presented Lesson Plan after the Pre-Assessment Definition: a preposition connects a noun to other words in a sentence and shows the relationship between them. Objectives: 1.) Students will be able to identify and define prepositions in a sentence. 2.) Students will be able to demonstrate the correct usage of prepositions. Procedure Teachers: Introduce prepositions to the students by asking them to think of words that they could use to describe what they could do with a toy and a box. (Hopefully some students will say to put the toy in, on, around, or beside the box, etc.) Brainstorm these words and write a few on the board. Then tell them that the words they just gave are actually called prepositions, and give the definition of what a preposition is. Teachers: Read these sentences out loud and emphasize the prepositions in each sentence. 1.) The dog ran across the street. (across shows the relationship between the dog and the street.) 2.) Eli walked into the school. (into shows the relationship between Eli and the school.) 3.) Marcos walks behind James in line. (behind shows the relationship between Marcos and James.) 4.) William sits beside Aidan in class. (beside shows the relationship between William and Aidan.)
