Diferences Between Depression In Elderly Man And Woman In Elderly Village IHC Gedonombo Semanding Tuban District in 2013 By : Cut Nita Mulya
Depression is disorder experienced by many elderly, which is caused by age,
education, occupation, matrial status activities. From the initial survey 1 severly depressed elderly woman, 5 man being depressed elderly woman and two elderly woman experience mild depression, while 5 were elderly man experience depression and two elderly man experience mild depression. Therefore, researchers aimed to determine differences in depression among elderly man and elderly woman in the village Gedognombo IHC Semanding Tuban district. The study design was a comparative analytical study design with observational, crosssectional time approach with a population of elderly, so we get great sampel 51 seniors. Sempel retrieval techniques using simple random sampling and data collection using a questionnaire, while the statistic test used were man whitney with significance level = 0.05. Based on the results of the study in elderly men get that respondents over most mild depression by 14 respondents (56.0%), and respondets were mostly elderly women were depressed by 21 respondents (80.8%), with sig = 0.000 meaning that there is a difference between depression in elderly man and woman in IHC Ederly Village Gedongombo Semanding Tuban District. From the desciption above it can be concluteded that depression can be differentiated by sex between older man and woman. And elderly expected positive thingking and more active in acitivities in elderly neighborhood health center in order to avoid depression.
