The table chart illustrates the proportion of boys in two different/separate age groups who were
interested in 5 various sport activitiesof in the UK in the year 2010.
Overall, football accounted for the largest percentage of sports in both two groups.In addition,
the rate of boys aged from 6 to 11 participating sports was higher than boys aged 12 to 16
(except for swimming).
87% of boys aged 6-11 in the UK, which accounted for the largest part, was for played football
while the figure for boys aged 12-16 was 78%. The proportion of boys playing basketball in the
UK was 35%, whereas the this proportionfigure for boys aged 12-16 was lower, at 25%. In
term of cricket, the figure forrate of the boys aged 6-11 in the UK was slightly higher than that
for of boys aged 12-16their older counterparts, at 45% and 34% respectively.
By contrast, the rate of boys in the UK spending their time for swimming was exactly the
same in both age groups, at 19% each. However, the percentage of rugby for boys aged 6-11 in
the UK taking part in rugby (at 23%) was 2% higher more than that of boys aged 12-16 (at
21%)
