Autonomous detail
Introduction
Disconnected from concept, following its own configuration ( / rule)
, ? <- <-
Two forms don't conform to one another but share enough of the same aspect to be read as both reinforcing contradictory.
Similarity between two details.
Architecture is understood as a series of intimate engagement as something experience haptic-ally, rather than visual conceptualization.
Construction a change in our awareness of parts and whole ( ) ->
Entire building is about assembly. Joint explains (animate) the assembly specifically. . . . .
How to animate: exaggeration, metaphor etc.
, ,
, ,
Structure a change in our awareness of the forces acting within a building, particularly weight ( ) -> : ?
If architecture is about structure, and structure is about weigh, then as expression of structure is changed so the expression of weight, and so it the expression of architecture. . . .
Mathematically vs. empathetically
solid, mass vs. void?
Structural autonomous detail affirm permanence or authority (?) Our distance from the building is altered at the point where smaller scale expression
How to animate: alternative perception, inversion etc.
Program a change in our awareness of our own functional engagement with building ( ) -> : ? -> ?
Mere functional, rather an alternative mode of expression (?)
The building is the most sculptural (detailed) where it is the most tactile.
These details occur at the point of tactile contact
It introduce soft, surreal (?) elements into building that are more geometric, structural and abstract
for the residents not for the public, to go upstairs.
Engaged furnisher seems odd elements. It give the space specificity of fiction. The material of the building (space and form) is transformed into a seating element. It has become dependent element from building material
Performance a change in our awareness of the forces acting on a building ( ) -> : ? -> ? -> ?
External animation, regarding with water
Conclusion
What it autonomous detail?
There is an intent beyond necessity.
It requires exception (imperfection / inconsistency).
There is an intent beyond exception (imperfection / inconsistency) -> ?
What is a building?
A piece of equipment that serves our need
It reminds us of where we are, what is around us, how we are situated, through being awareness of assemblies (connection / joint)

We may see a building as a configuration ( / rule) that formed from clearly defined and assembled ( configured / ruled) things ( / ).
Detail -> assembling? ?
It is the result of the conscious act of creating the inconsistence, imperfect.
Not consistent but non-conforming; not typical but exceptional, not the continuation of idea but its termination and the beginning of another.
Detailing
Detailing that is stylized, perfect, invisible or accomplished with motif will succeed where it is inconsistent, imperfect etc.
Details; tactile elements: where structure elements becomes smaller element: where people be aware of the whole space (public and private):
The purpose of the shared space is to let people know the relationship between private and public. To do this, it is important to sense (imagine) the whole space. Where things become tactile, it is the point people can be aware of the bigger structure.
Where people engage with the building
Details should have a roll their own; connection + disconnection?; Inconsistent from the whole structure;
Journey 1: Corridor night and day use
Floor from private area; Two hand rails; one is public side; one is private side; the material of the handrails is contrast to the each walls;
Table from private area; from the wall; is it connected to the private area?; how it the below part of the wall?; what is the purpose of the?
Camera obscure in court yard
Small window; loose joint: small hole: people cann see the residents food steps
Columns / shore wall; firm joint; supporting the roof; connected the chair upstairs;
Journey 2: Original Street shorter street
The long and narrow street traversing and splitting; it is mere functional rather concoetyural; it is a joint between spaces; it varies options to walk; it has handrail? What
Journey 3: Stairs + balcony + window eyes on the street
It is connected from either reading room or bed room; People walk and seat on the roof; what is the material? Private space but the structure is connected somehow; continuous; only 1 of 3 is stair case; the balcony part is all connected;
Where people ne aware of their functional engagement with building
