Dear School Administrators,
I am writing to recommend Mr. John Bertken to you as a highly dedicated and experienced
education professional. I had the pleasure of working with John at the Korea International School
Jeju campus throughout the 2013-14 academic year. John served as head of the schools
extensive boarding program during that time. In getting to know John, I found him to be a skilled
administrator and individual of the highest caliber character.
John is highly dedicated to students. He works continually to insure that students in his care are
able to find success both academically and in real life. He has positive rapport with students and is
respected by all those he supervises. John often takes a fatherly role when interacting with
students, and they appreciate his advice on school and life. Promoting positive behavior is a
strength of Johns and he takes a proactive role in creating the right environment for students to
feel safe and happy.
When it comes to educational practices, John determines the right philosophical approach to take,
then develops programs based upon that approach. He has spent time researching the best
educational practices and regularly pursues his own professional growth as an educator. Add this
to his vast experience in working with children and you have an individual who is able to produce
great results for the cause of education.
John is a team player and has positive professional relationships with all colleagues. He
contributes to a positive and productive environment that supports the success of his fellow
educators. John is highly dependable and often steps up, not only to ensure that things get done,
but to ensure sure they are done with the best interest of students in mind.
