After 10 years of non-stop grinding,

28-year-old singer/songwriter, Sevyn Streeter
is finally seeing the fruits of her labor.
Streeter got her start in music as a teenager
when she joined the girl group TG4. The
groups manager, Chris Stokes, anticipated
marketing them as the little sisters to teen
sensations B2K, but they disbanded before
their debut album came to fruition.
Despite the minor set back, Streeter continued to pursue a musical career, which rose to
another level after meeting one of her biggest influences: Chris Brown.
My journey has been a crazy one, Streeter
admitted.But its been great and its been
necessary. Ive been singing forever; I grew
up singing in church. I did Showtime at the
Apollo when I was 10 years old. I was in a
group signed to Interscope when I was 14.
I was in another group when I got a little
older, we were signed to Jive, called Rich
Girl. I met my manager, Tina Davis, and she
introduced me to Chris Brown.
Originally going by the stage name Se7en,
the singer created many hits for some of
todays biggest artists, such as Alicia Keys,
Ariana Grande, Kelly Rowland, and Chris
Brown.
Streeters songwriting capabilities has received several ASCAP awards and a Grammy
for her work with Brown.
Sevynrecently spoke on her success and
explained her writing process. She said,
There isnt anything that I wont write
about, but that doesnt mean Ill put out
everythingIll be as vulnerable as I can and
record anything, but I wont say that theres
anything I wont put out. It all dependsIf
putting out this record would be detrimental
to a friendship of mine, or would really hurt
someones feelings who I loveI wont put
that out, but Ill get that out in the studio.
Aside from the work shes done with other
artists, Sevyn has released some hits of her
own, including her debut singe,It Wont
Stop and her current smash,nEXt featuring
Kid Ink. S
