I'm writing to inform you of an incident that occurred this morning

where an altercation broke out between several students. One
student was in possession of a small knife and injured another
student. Our security team diffused the incident quickly and are
now working with Prince George's County Police Department to
complete an investigation. Please know that there was no
disruption to classroom instruction today.
This incident is not characteristic of the community at Frederick
Douglass High School. We expect all students to conduct
themselves in accordance with the Student Rights and
Responsibilities Handbook at all times. All of us are accountable
for maintaining the inviting, safe, and caring learning community
that is Frederick Douglass High School.
Please take a moment to reinforce with your student appropriate
conduct and remind them that weapons are never permitted on
school grounds at any time. As always, if you have any questions
