Game of Sounds

Why play the game?


Good listening skill allows one to fully enjoy and appreciate the details of music. In this
game, participants will improve their sensitivities on sounds and learn about families of
musical instruments in a fun way.
How to play the game?
Equipment required: computer, speakers, 2 set of game cards ( A = general objects, B=
musical instruments), stopwatch
PART 1
Game rule: participants should lift up the correct game card, which they think is best
represented the audio clips.
Instructions:
1. Start the game with set A cards.
2. Give one set of card to each team.
3. Ask the team to distribute cards evenly among members.
4. Play the chosen audio clip in computer. Repeat the audio if necessary.
5. Team members may lift up the game card even when the audio clip is still playing.
Correct answer with faster response: 15 points
Correct answer: 10 points
Wrong answer: 1 point
6. Repeat step 1 to 3 for 2 times.
PART 2
Game rule: Participants should memorize and show the sequence of the played audio
clips with their game cards.
Instructions:
1. Choose any 5 audio clips and play them one after another. Repeat the sequence if
necessary.
2. Give the game cards to each group. Teams will have 30 seconds to answer.
Correct answer with faster response: 15 points
Correct answer: 10 points
Wrong answer: 1 point
3. Repeat the game twice with longer sequence of audio clips.
PART 3
Repeat part 1 and 2 with set B cards. However, the points earned in part 3 will be
doubled.
