To Whom It May Concern, Thighly recommend Angie Duran for the Portland Teacher's Program. Angie has helped with various tasks in my 3" and 41 grade classrooms in the Beaverton School District for the last two years. Angie has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages, especially children. She is creative and is able to put together fun and engaging projects as well as keep students engaged. She has a positive attitude and works hard to show kids how successful they can be. Last year, she worked with students in a variety of activities. One of the big third grade activities we did was Animal Reports. Angie worked with small groups of students struggling with writing. She kept them on task and was able to help these students organize their thoughts and information. She also put together a paper mache project. She organized and ran a station to tape, paper and paint these projects. She helped students use technology to find pictures of their animals so they could make lifelike models. On her own, Angie also took pictures of all the students with their rainforest animals and got them developed. At the end of the year, she spent hours hand making amazing books so the kids could remember their 3% grade projects and their friends. When the kids got them and glued their pictures in, they were very happy and remarked that they would keep these forever. Her dedication and creativity shows the kind of person she is. This year, Angie has been my Room Mom and Art Literacy volunteer. She has shown great organizational skills by organizing parents to help with parties and sending ‘out emails to get help with other activities. She has also led Art Literacy lessons. During these lessons, she has been in charge of teaching information about artists to students and giving directions on how to proceed with a project. Angie is great at keeping student's attention and giving directions that are age appropriate and easy to follow. The kids respect her and enjoy her in the classroom.
