GEOPHYSICS

During 2013 Hidrogeocol Ca. Ltda. carried out a work of

geophysical investigation inside/outside of Petrocomercial
Amazonas Station. They used geoelectric method and made
electric well log.
Using this information our department decided to use the
georadar method (GPR) in order to evaluate the results obtained
from logging wells.
For this case we used two profiles and two well log located
around the Petrocomercial Amazonas Station (220 meters straight
line).
This brief report provides an assessment of the results obtained
during the field work and compare them with lithologic logs in
order to establish the reliability which has GPR in such materials

RESULTS

The depth of 12 meters there is a change of direction

along the GR (orange line) in both profiles. This limit
coincides with the upper edge can be seen in the
radargram of the L1 profile.
The results indicated that there is a relationship between
gamma ray register and the result that we obtained from
GPR.
