Two Wolves

ne evening an old Cherokee told his grandson a story

about a GREAT battle that goes on inside people.
He said,
My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

One wolf is evil (). It is anger, envy, hate, jealousy, greed, selfishness, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, dishonesty, resentment, rudeness, laziness, and fear.
The other wolf is good (+). It is joy, peace, love, kindness, hope, humility, sympathy,
respect, truth, compassion, creativity, initiative, and faith.
The two strong wolves battle day and night to defeat one another.

The grandson imagined the fierce fighting wolves in his grandfathers story for a minute.
Then he asked, Grandfather, which wolf wins?
The old Cherokee simply replied,

Son, the one that wins

is the one you feed.
