    schoolsystem'sproposedbudgetcallsfor48.3milliondollarsinadditionalfunding.Someofthe
    commissionerssupportthelargertaxincreasecitingthattheschoolsystemisavitalpartofsociety.Theextra
    fundingwouldhelpfuelpayincreasesforteachers,alargerfreebreakfastprogram,andanincreaseinfunding
    toSmartStartprogram.
    However,noteveryoneisinsupportofthistaxhike.TheChairmanoftheBoardofCommissioners
    worriesthatthetaxincreasewillnotbeabletosupporttheschoolsneedinthelongrunwhichwillcreatea
    deficitofapproximately$20millionbytheyear2020.TheChairmansuggestthattheydothetaxincreasein
    stepstosustainthecountyandschoolsysteminthelongrun.TheBoardofCommissionerswillvoteonafinal
    budgetonJune15th.

    interestingtoseeifthecommissionerssidewiththeschoolboardorpropertyownersinthisissue.
