Objective: to increase student awareness of his/her learning progress by independently

demonstrating critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The purpose of
self-evaluation is to enhance clinical skill development.
Assignment: the student will submit weekly written Self-Assessments by the end of each week
and adddress the following:
1. Describe what you feel you did well in clinic today/this week:

Monday: Recall with previous debridement Completed. 3 sub.

o I used the P-10 ultra sonic tip to start, followed by Graceys and Files, and
then use the Left/Right ultrasonic for fine detail.
Tuesday: Board Patient. I worked on the LR quadrant. I am glad I had the
opportunity to work on my board patient to get an idea of the calculus.
Friday: Senior Day. I was able to complete 3 patients on this day. One of the
patients had a denture, so I was able to complete my final oral prosthesis.

2. Describe what did not go well in clinic:

I felt like I took too long with my board patient. I was hoping to clean one
quadrant completed, and I was only able to complete 5 teeth.

3. How can I plan for improvement to meet these challenges the next time they present?

Pay attention to the time. I also did not switch back to the P-10 as I should have.

4. My clinical instrumentation and patient treatment goal(s) for the next clinic session is/are:

Tuesday: Continuing care patient.
