Verse and Prose Preliminary

Yuck
Jam all over her fingers,
Pastry in her hair,
Fruit juice dribbling down her chin
And custard everywhere
Play Dough in her fingernails
Mud between her toes,
And something much much nastier
Running down her nose.
But none of that would bother me
If it werent for this;
My sisters heading this way fastAnd its me she wants to kiss!

Story Time
When our teacher tells us stories
At the end of every day,
We all sit in silence
As she takes us far away
To places where wise wizards
Live in castles in the sky,
To lands where all the children
Have wings so they can fly.
We all sit in silence.
We just sit and stare,
For when teacher tell us stories
She makes us feel we are there.

Star-Trip

Where is it mermaids swim in the sea?

Where is it unicorns roam about free?
Is there a plant where dragons are found
And witches on broomsticks still hover around?
Is there a planet where giants and gnomes
And spell-making wizards have all made their homes?
Im going to find it, perhaps its not far ,
So start up the engines and head for that star.

The Babysitter
It was clear
From the moment
They walked through the door
That Tracey
Had never done
This job before.
Until they came home
She patiently sat
On me
my little brother
and the cat.

Going Swimming
Kick off your shoes, pull off your clothes,
The pool smell tingles up your nose.
That shower is freezing-shiver-shoutLeap in the water, splash about.
Doggy paddle, slip and slop,
Jump and dive and belly flop.
Splosh the breaststroke, plunge the crawl,
Float on your back, throw a ball.
And then the best part of the treatA bag of fish and chips to eat.

Grown out of
My trousers are tight
They just wont fit.

And my jumper?
Ive grown out of it.
My shirts to short.
It just wont do.
There are holes in my socks
where my toes peep through.
So its lucky I dont
grow out of my skin.
Cos then thered be nothing
to put me in.
