My final position statement says, What America surely needs now is a return to those original

ideals that have been the source of her greatness. Americas need, and the worlds need,
today, is a new burst of American pioneering, and this time not just within the confines of a
single continent but all around the globe.-Arnold Toynbee, and this photo is a good illustration
of America struggling with equality even though it was an original ideal. A big idea created by
America was that all men/women should be created equal. However we have seen in American
history that this not the case with issues such as slavery, segregation and discrimination
towards other races. This pictures shows the lack of equality by showing a billboard of a happy
and wealthy white family, and then shows a group of African Americans on the ground who look
sad and are waiting in line for something. In a way the picture shows the inequality struggle that
Americans have dealt with since the beginning of our nation. However today equality is much
better than it has been in the past and although the situation is not perfect, America is slowly
working towards the original ideal of equality for all.
