Subject: Elementary Teaching Position
To Whom It May Concern:
I am excited about my career as a teacher and I love to share my passion for learning
with children and other teachers.
I graduated from Keene State College, completing a dual degree in Early Childhood
Education and Psychology. This degree certifies me to teach birth to third grade.Having
a dual degree in Psychology has added to my perspective of child development and
communication skills.
I spent my first year teaching at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Child Care Center
as a preschool teacher. In this role I implemented a variety of successful developmental
activities. There I was able to bring my class to an outdoor classroom once a week.
Doing this, I was able to see an amazing change in children's behavior, ability to focus
and desire to learn.
I spent my second year teaching as a pre-k teacher at FitKids at The River Valley Club
in Lebanon, NH. I was given the opportunity to set up and design my own pre-k
classroom. Here I have successfully designed a developmentally appropriate curriculum
to help children transition to kindergarten, planned two field trips, two family events and
am also a lead teacher to four other co-teaches in different preschool classrooms.
Currently I am working as an assistant teacher in a Kindergarten classroom at Hanover
Street School in Lebanon, NH. I have chosen this current position to help me fulfill my
dream of being an elementary school teacher and furthering my experiences in the
public school setting.
All of these work experiences have solidified my ability to provide the most creative and
hands on experiences to impact children's learning. I have been able to build wonderful

relationships with the children, their parents, and my co-workers. However, I now feel
that my teaching skills would be best utilized in an elementary school setting.
I believe that I will be a valuable addition to your team, where I can build positive
relationships and provide a safe and creative environment for children.
