Objective
I am applying for the Texas DPS for the position of a Texas State Trooper, as a Trooper Trainee. For the 2016
Highway Patrol Academy. I want to obtain this position so that I can serve and protect the citizens of the
great state of Texas, and I believe that I would be a great benefit to the state of Texas as a peace officer.
Experience

2007-Present

I have worked in the auction business since 2007. I have performed a number of tasks from setting up an
auction, to calling bids, as well as everything in between. I have learned to deal with the public and work
in under constant surveillance of the public.

Lone Star Farms

2014-2015

Duties include: Day to day farming and ranching activities. I also served as an accountant and have put my
accounting skills to use.

Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department

2009-Present

I have worked side by side with both local and state law enforcement. I have been on the scene of many
crashes and I know the proper procedures in those situations, as well as how to deal with the public in
those high stress situations. I have fought a number of fires, including grass and structure fires.
Education

Tarleton State University

2013-2015

I have a Bachelors Degree in Agribusiness and a minor in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University in
Stephenville, Texas.

I attended the Texas Auction Academy and I currently hold a Texas Auctioneer License. License #17319.

I hold an Associates Degree from Clarendon College, in Clarendon, Texas.

Skills
I have a number of skills that will be benefit me as a Texas State Trooper. I have a studied criminal justice
in college. I have also studied under different Troopers in their day to day activities and I have experienced
the job of the Texas Highway Patrol first hand on multiple occasions. I more than meet the educational
requirements that the DPS requires for this position. I have served in the public eye for a number of years
working in the auction business, I have learned to resolve conflicts that arise from time to time, and I
believe this will benefit me when it comes to dealing with the public as a state trooper.
