Density of an Unknown Metal

1. Obtain an unknown sample and write in the space provided below the physical properties
of the unknown.
2. Weigh out 10-15 g of the sample.
3. Obtain a 50 mL graduated cylinder and fill with 25 mL water.
4. Add the unknown sample to the graduated cylinder and record the volume.
5. Decant the water from the graduated cylinder containing the sample into a beaker
provided by your teacher.
6. Pour the sample on to a paper towel and dry thoroughly and leave them on the paper
towel.
7. Determine the density.
8. Use the information from the table below to identify your sample
