It is with extreme confidence that I offer my professional support and recommendation for Ms. Jenna Stoutenburg. Ms. Stoutenburg successfully completed an internship in a third grade class at Earhart Elementary/Middle School with Detroit Public Schools. She skillfully interacted with a population of challenging students with language barriers as well as academic reversals. These ELL (English Language Learners) students related to her exuberance and multiple methods of instruction with little to no resistance. Ms. Stoutenburg showed a consistent command of subject material as she moved seamlessly from one subject to the next. Her comfort level in front of the class, while relaxed at the onset, grew expediently as she took on increasingly more teaching responsibility. Ms. Stoutenburgs ability to connect with the students was apparent at the onset; students greeted her with eagerness each morning. She took great strides to respect her role as a leader in the classroom. She was open and engaging, invested in students lives and experiences while carefully navigating the line of professionalism. She was inquisitive about many aspects of the classroom, open to ideas. Ms. Stoutenburg was creative in her teaching style so as to address a diverse population. Her use of strong positive reinforcements motivated students. She showed a talent for teaching simple concepts as well as more advanced ones. She had excellent written and verbal communication skills; was well versed in the use of technology and incorporated those skills effectively in her instruction. Ms. Stoutenburg exhibited a calm and dedicated approach to her duties; she was particularly reliable. She mediated problems with fairness and had excellent classroom management skills. Overall my experience with Ms. Stoutenburg would indicate that she is well qualified for any teaching position. I give her my sincere and highest recommendation.
