DRONES

A drone is a flying robot that can be remotely

controlled or, even the most sophisticated ones, are
able to fly autonomously in conjunction with a GPS
system. At the beginning drones were developed to
military purposes, however, their use has spread
and its so habitual to watch videos that have been
record with one of these devices but maybe you don
t know it.
Although drones prize were quite high some years ago, today we can buy acquire
one spending very little money. In webs like Amazon you will find basic models
from just 30, but if you are looking for a professional one, you will have to pay
up to 1.000 . These ones usually include a HD camera, carbon fiber parts and
their own application which allows pilots to record or capture images directly from
their drones onboard camera.
Probably recording is the most extended use;
these devices are very useful to record from a
different perspective and also they allow the user
to film closely dangerous situations. Drones are
also used in search and rescue operations; heatsensing equipment lets the pilot find victims after
a hypothetical accident in a difficult access area.
Recently, drones have come into consideration
for a number of commercial applications. In 2013,
Amazon announced a plan to use drones for
delivery. The service, known as Amazon Prime
Air, is expected to deliver orders inside 15 Km
radius within 30 minutes.
Despite all the positive aspects in relation with drones, an unsuitable use of these
devices could be very dangerous. Our private life would be seriously in risk if
someone decides to spy us. You could be quietly at home when a paparazzi is
recording you with one of them from the window.
Apart from that, is everyone prepared to use this
kind of devices? If you dont know how to control it
correctly you can cause an accident. These are
some of the reasons why last year a law about it
was created in our country. Today you cant use a
drone to do professional activities whether you don
t have a license; and also its illegal to flight over
habited places.

In the 1830s, moving images were produced on revolving

drums and disks, with independent invention by Simon von
Stampfer in Austria, Joseph Plateau in Belgium and William
Horner in Britain.
William Lincoln patented a device that showed animated
pictures called the wheel of life or zoopraxiscope. In it,
moving drawings or photographs were watched through a
slit.
On June 19, 1873, Eadweard Muybridge successfully photographed a horse named in fast motion
using a series of 24 stereoscopic cameras. Nine years later, in 1882, French scientist tienne-Jules
Marey invented a chronophotographic gun.

BLACK AND WHITE

From its birth in 1880's, movies were predominantly monochrome. Contrary to popular belief,
monochrome doesn't always mean black-and-white. It means a movie shot in two-tone color. Since
cost of color films were substantially higher, movies mostly were produced in monochrome until
1970's. Almost all of the short silent films from 1880's to 1910's, almost all the feature-length silent
films from 1910's to 1920's as well as most of the feature-length sound films from 1920's to 1970's
were produced in monochrome. In 1970's, cinema mostly switched over to color films as they became
economical and viable.

After the advent of motion pictures, a tremendous amount of energy was invested in the production of
photography in natural color. The invention of the talking picture further increased the demand for the
use of color photography. However, in comparison to other technological advances of the time, the
arrival of color photography was a relatively slow process.
Early movies were not actually color movies, since they were shot monochrome and hand-colored or
machine-colored afterwards. Such movies are referred to as colored and not color. In 2010's color
films were largely superseded by color digital cinematography.

Nowadays Hollywood is the most important industry in

producing films in the whole world. It is situated in Los
Angeles (California, USA).

The 87th Academy Awards ceremony honored the best films of 2014 and took place on 22nd

A SWEET STORY
MY STORY

I was student of the 2 year at Gastronomy at the Institute of Culinary

Education in Granada. One morning, two of my classmates (who are also my
best friends) and I came up with the fantastic idea of starting a new project. It
consisted of opening a bakery.
In this way we could work and get money to afford our degrees and the
expenses of living out of home, while we were gaining experience for the
future.
At the beginning it was really difficult. We had no idea about how to carry out a
bussines, as well as we hadn't got so much money to invest.
The local was very small and it hasn't enough space to place any type of
furniture, so it was take away food.

In very little time, we had a great number of clients. Everyone who tried our
delicious groceries used to come again another time.
As time went on, we were surpassing ourselves. We distributed the work day in
six hours per day for each one. The business was organized meticulously. We
decided to get publicity on local newspaper like this and on the radio. This
increased the number of customers, apart from the students that used to take
their breakfast and afternoon snack.
Nowdays, we have finished our degrees and the bakery is much bigger than at
the beginning. It is situated in a famous square full of tourists. We also have a
webpage where we show the types of cakes, sweets and bread we offer. One of
the most popular are the cupcakes, which are always sold very quickly.

CUPCAKES
Our chocolate cupcake recipe has been so successful
than we have decided to teach people how to prepare
it. We will do it by turns of 15 people one time per
month. If you are interested, you have to participate in
the riffle, whose ballots are inside the cupcakes we
offer at the bakery.
On the other hand, we are going to explain it for
people to make it at home.

Ingredients:
150 g butter
150g superfine sugar
175g self-rising flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or
essence
50g chocolate chips
50g unsweetened cocoa powder
Steps:
1. Preheat the oven at 180C (Add 12 cupcake papers)
2. In a cup, break the eggs carefully, removing any shell that falls in (Using
a fork beat lightly)
3. Pour all the ingredients (apart from the chocolate chips) into a large bowl
(Add the beaten eggs)
4. Mix using an electric mixer. Mix for 2 min (Once the mixture appears light
and fluffy, it is ready to transfer to the cake cases)
5. Use a spatula to transfer the chocolate cake mixture to each cake case
(Try to distribute it evenly)
6. Sprinkle chocolate chips into each individual patty
7. Place in the oven. Bake for 18-20 min (The cupcakes are ready when they
have risen and are firm to the touch.
8. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes. Top with
frosting once cool.
9. Finished. Decorate them with sprinkles or other additions (If desired, to
complete your tasty treats!)
Cupcakes are a delicious and rich dessert, and they're perfect for almost any
occasion. Whether you want to celebrate a birthday or if you just want to enjoy
a tasty treat for the fun of it, the cupcakes are the ideal food.

MUSIC BANDS IN THE 90S

You, parents in your thirties and forties, who dont understand why your teenager child lives and dies for a singer or
why your son or daughter knows by heart each song and each choreography step of a music band... After reading
this article, you will notice that at their same age you werent very different from them, because the fan
phenomenon has always been there. Shall we remember together?
In 1996, Spice Girls were born. These five British girls
brokekjgkj
all the existing rules and became the girl band
which sold the biggest number of copies of their first
hit called Wannabe with their cheeky behaviour and
their naughty clothes. Each one of them had (and still
have) a well-defined personality and they
popularized the Girl Power! exclamation.
Backstreet Boys turned up in 1993. It was the most
famous boy band in the 90s and several years later.
They, five handsome boys from Orlando, got to
surprise everybody with their voices and their
unusual choreographies. Their first hit Weve got it
going on was followed by others like Ill never break
your heart, Get down or As long as you love me.
According to Billboard magazine, they are the first
boy band whose seven albums reached the top ten
in the music lists. BSB have sold over 130 million of
copies worldwide, making them the best-selling boy
band in the story.

Others bands with similar characteristics, were:

Take that. This British band got famous in the early 90
years. They reached the number one of the music lists
with singles like Everything changes, Pray or Sure.
They have released twelve albums in their music
career. Robbin Williams was born, musically speaking,
in this band.
Nsync. It was created in 1996 in Orlando, Florida. They
got to be famous with their hit I want you back. With
it, they toured Europe and US collecting success and
new fans worldwide. Justin Timberlake was one of the
members of this group.
Hanson. This pop, rock and indie band, comprising for
three brothers from US, got its success with the hit
MMMbop, considered one of the best songs in the
90s.

If Im honest, I got hooked on Backstreet Boys. I found them out when I was fourteen years old while I was watching
them dancing in a music TV programme. I still remember my arguments with my mother when I put their posters on
my bedrooms wall. Now, a bit older, I really like their love songs and the sweet messages in them. One of my
favorite song is Everybody (Backstreet Back). Its videoclip is simply brilliant.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE MOBILE PHONE IN OUR

SOCIETY
Every day, we use the mobile phone in our life not only to talk by the
phone, but to relate with other people. Soif we havent got mobile
phones we will be very weird.
History of the mobile phone
The history of the mobile phone started with The Second World War,
where the communication was necessary.
At the first, the phone was used to call when there was some urgency,
but this gradually changed until our days.

How is the influence in our society?

The use of the mobile phone creates advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, the communication between citizens is easier, but
on the other hand, the excessive use of the mobile phone creates
addiction problems. Furthermore, if you don't have a phone nowadays
you are considered to be strange. We dont use only this to call, we
use this to speak daily for example with the application of whatsap.

Conclusions.
Although the use of the mobile phone has been very important and a
step, we have to know to use this and we cant obsses with this due
to it could be turned into a problem. Finally, we can say that if we use
a lot mobile phones in our society, we will lose a lot of experiences
that real life could be offer us.
