How PR could turn the world upside down?


Quote that said by Nikoz Kazantzakis - a philosopher probably is the perfect way
to describe how PR can turn the world upside down Since we cannot change
reality, let us change the eye which see reality. PR is about telling our story to
the audience and interjects our point of view to become their point of view and
belief. As they become the part of us, they will talk for us or simply create word
of mouth.
As it becomes easier and faster to do 2 way communication to our audience with
the new media or what we call as social media facebook, twitter, blog, you tube
etc, nowadays PR practitioner will create integrated traditional & online public
relations strategy to make our product, services, image, and brand to be the part
of their attention, accepted and trusted as part which can create a new trend and
business possibility. Simply from zero to hero.
Example how it works
1. Politic
Our newly presiden, Ir. Joko Widodo doesnt have strong background in
politic environment as his background is business owner in furniture on his
home region, Solo. The reputation and track record that he has when
governed Solo at that time become a source to build his image throughout
social media and traditional media.
2. Business
Traffic jam in Jakarta is seen as big opportunity for motorcycle-taxi or ojek
in Indonesia. Ojek that usually seen as mid-low class transportation for
some people now uplift the image as fast, recommended and safe
transportation as GO-JEK entered the market. Their innovative idea,
excellent system, user friendly apps and website that supported by
excellent PR strategies bring them to be used regularly by more than 50
companies to deliver their products, documents and even their employees
(www.go-jek.com).
3. Lifestyle
Running might not be a popular or preferred sport on the last decade. But
in the last 3 years, its not only became a sport but also a lifestyle, a trend,
a hype event. The journey start from a small community until a lot of
companies (that have related product or service) make events as the part

of their campaign like a domino effect. Its proved by a lot of running event
comes up in the last 3 years such as Jakarta Marathon, Bali Marathon,
Nutrilite Health Run, Pocari Sweat Run Indonesia, HILO Teen Running
Challenge.
