In this segment , we are going to demonstrate the steps to take to aid someone

who is choking.
As always , it is important to first calm the victim. It is also impkrtant to inform tje
victim that you are trianed ij firdt aid and am about to perform a manouvere on
him.

For minor choking cases, simply straighten the palm of one of your hands and
apply a few gentle taps on the victims back until the obstruction is removed. Grip
the victim's upper arm with your free hand to keep the victim from moving
around while you are applying your taps.

For more severe cases , the Heimlich Manoeuvre is the preferred choice. Signs of
severe choking would be when a person cannot breathe , cough or make sounds ,
or the obstruction does not exit after continuous tapping.
The Heimlich Manoeuvre is described in a few steps :
Stand or kneel behind the person and wrap your arms around his or her
waist. ...
Make a fist with one hand. ...
Grasp your fist with the other hand. ...
Repeat thrusts until the object pops out or the person faints.
