The red panda, is much smaller


than the giant panda. It
resembles a raccoon in size and
appearance.
Looks
the
same
to me

I can weigh from 3 to 6


kilograms! And, I can have
a head and body length of
50 to 64 cm

These animals spend most of


their lives in trees . They are
most active at night.

The red panda is found in a


mountainous band from Nepal
through north eastern India

And Bhutan and into China, Laos


and northern Myanmar.

Did you know?

T h a t Fe m a l e r e d p a n d a s g i v e b i r t h
mainly in June. Mating occurs
d u r i n g w i n t e r, u s u a l l y b e t w e e n
early January and mid-March.

The young seem to stay with the


mother for about a year, or until
the next baby is about to be
born.

A RED PANDA
Has brownish-red fur and thick
black fur on its leg.
Grows to a size of a house cat, but
with its big and bushy tail, it adds
more or less about 46 centimeters.
Has a big, red and fluffy tail, that
has 10 black rings around it.
Has a claw as sharp as a house cat.
