HelpSheet MOO47: Adding images to a Moodle Topic Block


Saw this the other day on Solent University’s Moodle and liked the idea. It really is pretty
simple

1. Here is a list of moodle activities with lots of text on it that needs breaking up with
an image:

2. The next stage is to get a suitable image (you can download it or link to it from
another website) – here is mine:

3. I have modified the image in Fireworks so that the size matches where it is going to
be placed

4. I go into the Editor and select the banner at the top of my topic:

5. I then get a page like this:

6. I click on the Picture Icon and select the image I want:

7. Then most importantly I select Alignment Right from the Layout feature

8. I click OK to get a screen like this:

9. When I press Save Changes (and with a little bit of practise) I get something like this:

Oops – spellings!

Limitations
If you like to put more than one feature per “Topic” block it can be a little tricky!
