Mitel Digital Expansion Interface Digital and Analog Support
Mitel 5000 Communications Platform (formerly Inter-Tel 5000 Network
Communications Solutions) enables organizations to blend their voice system into their
data network, creating a cost-effective, efficient communications environment. The Mitel
Digital Expansion Interface (DEI), compliments the 5000 CP and provides businesses with
flexibility in deploying digital and analog solutions, complementing full IP capability.
Each DEI Offers:
Three modular bays that each accept digital or
analog trunk modules (analog extensions)
Support for Inter-Tel Model 8500 series
digital phones

The DEI, 1U form factor design, allows for the

connection of up to 48 digital phones. Up to four
DEIs can be added (limited to three on a CS-5200)
enabling you to deploy up to 192 digital phones.

Digital ports (provided by the DEMs) on the DEI can

be split into two analog lines by utilizing single line
adapters (SLA) allowing for any mix of digital and / or
analog extensions up to 48 per DEI, or 192 total.
Fast Fact
CS-5200, CS-5400 and CS-5600 communications servers
may be networked with an existing Inter-Tel Axxess
communications system, offering backwards migration
compatibility and expansion of IP networking.
