The Americans with Disability Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act

The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in

employment, transportation, public accommodation, communications, and
governmental activities. The Rehabilitation Act authorizes grant programs of
vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, independent living and
client assistance. Section 508 states how all the electronic and information
technology has to allow individuals with disabilities. 508 also addresses the
access for people with physical, sensory or cognitive disabilities. These are
enforced by Department of Labor, Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, Department of Transportation, Federal Communications
Commission, and Department of Justice. These prohibit discrimination
against persons with disabilities.
