Leadership Project: To study and analyze hospital procedures

and protocols to reduce and maintain low CLABSI rates
throughout the Urban Central Region of Intermountain Health
Care (IHC).
Goals:
- To increase my knowledge of the risk factors associated
with CLABSI
- To enhance my abilities in reviewing research articles
pertaining to CLABSI.
- Implement peer-review literature to apply best practice,
model evidence based practices.
- To improve education and application of best practice
advances to continue reduction of CLABSI throughout IHC.
- Review audits of central lines
- Assessments of where IHC is with CLABSI percentages.

Activities:
-Receive guidance from preceptor of learning experiences.
-Collaborate, collect, and complete audits pertaining to
CLABSI reports.
-Stay informed with blog entries and reviews.
-Attend multiple infectious disease meeting about CLABSI.
-Perform chart audits pertaining to CLABSI data.
Evaluation:
-Progression of goals.
-Receive feedback from preceptor and peers.
-Follow through on outlined goals.
-Reflective paper on capstone experience.
