Arranged marriages should be banned

Arranged marriages should be banned because (1) it deprives the individual his/her
opportunity to freely choose his/her partner and that (2) the couple would be the
one enduring the hardships from something that was only decided for them, (3) the
marriage was established without the assurance of compatibility between the
couple, (5) it gives the idea that marriage is similar to a bargaining process to
ensure stability and impose the familys interests and lastly (4) arranged marriages
greatly pressures the individual psychologically and emotionally because he/she has
to make a choice between his/her own happiness or the will of his/her parents.
