Objective/Purpose: The objective is to visually introduce the students to a unit fraction and

how it is represented in a whole number. By the end of the lesson they should be able to divide a
unit fraction by whole numbers with ease.

Introduce Lesson: The students have previously worked with block tens therefore they should

comprehend the lesson. They are taken what they already know and building on it, since now the
blocks are not provided they will, in some problems, need to draw the blocks out. Once they
have drawn out the blocks they need only to count the blocks that fit.

Example: If the student has a difficult time with this method another method will be provided.

Lesson: The students will need to complete the following two worksheets. The first worksheet

they blocks have been drawn out for their use. In the second worksheet they will need a separate
sheet of paper to draw out the problems and show me how they came to their answer.
