To Whom It May Concern,
Thave had the pleasure of working with Ashley during her most recent internship at Charter House
Clubhouse, which is a psycho-social rehab program affiliated with the Clinton-Eaton-Ingham
Community Mental Health Board in Lansing Michigan. Ashley literally hit the floor running back in,
January and since then has been a real asset to our clubhouse,
Watching her grow and develop as a professional has been a real joy, and she exhibits a natural ability
to get along with people in diverse settings. Her work ethic and her skill with this particular group of
consumers (people with severe and persistent mental illness) is excellent, as can be attested to by the
membership here, who have come to love and respect her as an individual. It is rare that an individual
coming in for a time limited, educational purpose should be so universally accepted by virtually all of
our membership, and that is just what she has done!
In addition, Ashley has been willing throughout the year to come in early, stay late, and pitch in to
help ina pinch. She is truly a team oriented person, and has an understanding of the importance of
collaboration and of not overplaying her role.
With regard to clubhouse relationships, she treats members with dignity and respect, listening to their
needs and promoting independence. In my opinion she is one of the finest interns we have had here
at Charter House, and I believe the entire staff here agrees that we would hire her immediately. The
only thing holding her back from applying for jobs at this point is getting her degree. We have been
lucky enough to have been able to hire her temporarily this summer as are short staffed, and by
having her degree we can consider her for future permanent positions in our agency.
Given these facts, I would heartily recommend that Ashley Carter be awarcled her B.S.W. so that she
can pursue her goals in social work. I believe that she would be successful in whatever she wants to
accomplish.
If you have other questions please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
l as
