Jackie has been sick for one week.

She wanted to go out of the house to play

but this was not possible. It was Monday and her mother had to go back to
work. Her mother gave Jackie some bitter medicine and told her, Think of a
happy place, Jackie. Jackie thought of her Lola Itang and her kitchen in the
province. She thought about her Lolas cooking utensils and her delicious
food. All of a sudden, her Lola came with a plate of bibingka topped with
cheese and salted egg.

On Tuesday, Lola cooked champorado for Jakie. It was chocolatey, sweet and
milky.

On Wednesday, Lolo baked ensaymada for Jackie. It was soft, sweet and
creamy as it oozed with butter and sugar.

On Thursday, Lola fried some turon for Jackie. It was sweet and crispy.

On Friday, Lola prepared halu-halo for Jackie. It had sweet garbanzos and
beans as well as bananas and jackfruit in syrup, nata de coco, gelatine, ube
and leche flan.

When Mama came home, she was happy to find Jackie already well. The
medicine did not just help, her Lolas love also helped her get better.
