Dear Krueger Sheet Metal,

I am writing to apply for the Mechanical Engineering position posted on your
job board. I believe my education and employment history have provided me
the skills to adequately fulfill your opening. I also believe that my work ethic,
resourcefulness, and personality will fit in well with Krueger Sheet Metal.
I grew up on a farm, learning what it takes to get creative to design and
apply sources available to get a job done. With these every day challenges I
grew a passion for Mechanical Engineering and Fabrication. In high school I
began taking welding classes and testing my skills with new challenges. This
evolved me designing and building my own utility trailers and gates to sell to
customers at a very young age. This not only taught me the design aspect of
things, but the step by step process to get the job done.
With my continued passion for engineering I went to school at the University
of Idaho to persue a Mechanical Engineering degree. While in school I worked
for a company named Fabtec in Moscow Idaho, where we designed and built
our own rock crushers. This continued to challenge my skills in both the
fabrication and engineering world. With my gained knowledge from Fabtec,
and the University of Idaho I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering
degree in May of 2015. The University of Idaho taught me how to design
something, analyze it and make sure it is safe and will work, then create
prints; while Fabtec taught me how to take those prints and make them
come to life.
With this gained knowledge of not only Mechanical Engineering, but the
hands on experience in the shop, I believe I am more qualified compared to
fellow classmates who have lacked this hands on experience.
With that said, I believe I am well qualified for the opening Mechanical
Engineering position with Krueger Sheet Metal, and have a lot to offer, as
well as a lot of opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge and
experience within your company.
