S&C Alduti-Rupter

Switches

Outdoor Distribution (7.2 kv through 46 kv)

This low-profile substation serves the air-cargo facilities at
the Baltimore-Washington International Airport. For anticipated future requirements the site will accommodate two
additional transformers, along with their associated equipment for switching and protection.

S&C Power Fuses - Type SMD-1A are used at the primary

of each transformer to protect the distribution system
against transformer faults and to protect the transformer
itself against secondary faults, thus eliminating the need for
main secondary breakers.

S&C Alduti-Rupter Switches provide selective, full-load

switching for both primary and secondary circuits.

S&C Mounting Pedestals, rectangular tubular columns of

formed steel plate construction, are used throughout the
station.
