HEMOGLOBIN

DEFINITION
Hemoglobin is metaloprotein (proteins that
contain iron) in the red blood cell that serves
as a carrier of oxygen from the lungs to the
rest of the body, [1] in mammals and other
animals. Hemoglobin is also the bearer of
carbon dioxide back to the lungs to be
exhaled body. Hemoglobin molecule consists
of globin, apoprotein, and four heme groups,
an organic molecule with an iron atom

SYMPTOMS

Symptoms of low hemoglobin

Anemia
tachypnea
tachycardia
chest pain
The most common symptoms
malaise
pass out
cyanosis
takipneu

RISK FACTOR
Some factors that may increase the chances of anemia
include:
Low intake of nutrients in food .
Health disorders of the small intestine or operations
relating to the small intestine
Menstruation .
Pregnancy .
Chronic conditions such as cancer , kidney failure or
liver failure .
Heredity .

PURPOSE
To calculate the concentration of
hemoglobin in the blood

WORK PRINCIPLE
Comparing the acid hematin brown
color has changed from hemoglobin
with hydrochloric acid 0,1N by
comparing the standard tool
hemoglobinometer.

Tools:
Pipette HB Sahli
Hemoglobinometer
Stir bar
Diluent tube hemometer
Material inspection:
Blood that has been given anticoagulants / EDTA
Reagents:
Aquadest
Hydrochloric acid 0,1N

TOOLS

HAEMOMETER SAHLI

PROCEDURE
Ways Of Working:
approximately setes enter hydrochloric acid / HCl 0,1N hemometer
diluent into the tube up to the mark 2
suck the blood which has been given the right EDTA till the line 0.5
delete the excess blood that is still attached to the outside of the
pipette with a tissue
blood enter into the bottom of the tube pipette (careful - care to avoid
air bubbles)
rinse the contents of the pipette with 0,1N HCl solution contained in
the tube
then mix the contents of the tube so that blood and HCl bersenyawa
then add distilled water dropwise while stirring with a stirring rod until
the same color with the color standard on tool hemoglobinometer
then read hemoglobin levels indicated on the dilution tube

prevention
