is to introduce students to the


history and traditions of the carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical craft
trades. Students will explore how the various crafts have influenced and been
influenced by history. The student will also learn and apply knowledge of the
care and safe use of hand and power tools as related to each trade. In addition,
students will
be introduced to and develop skills to differentiate between blueprints
related to each individual craft area

Description of how to implement in the class: The teacher will lead the
discussion hoe Architects use shapes in designs. Students will locate a picture of a
building or other structure and analyze the various shapes used in the design.
Students will be give several days to complete the project. After selecting a photo,
students will write a report identifying the shapes. Students will present their findings
to the class.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): LBT.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *: This
graph shows students how construction is done in the real word. It also
shows all the technical trades that require to complete a house from the
begging to end.
Other comments about your proposed spreadsheet/graph/chart activity: The
main purpose of this graph, is to create awareness to students about the wonderful
world of construction. Construction is also associated with many careers that
students may be interested in the future; such as Civil and Mechanical Engineering,
Architecture, Designing, Electrical Engineering, Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Land
scape Architecture and many more that may be considered.
